The A494 will be closed between the Leisure Centre at Bala and Rhyd y Main (Dolgellau side of Llanuwchllyn) between 08:00 and 13:00 on Sunday 3rd September for the Bala Triathlon event.
The only access to Llanuwchllyn during these times will be via the B4403 from Bala, which may get congested.
The organisers of the Triathlon have agreed to allow an escorted convoy in each direction to Llanuwchllyn to enable passengers to catch our first departure at 11:30am. Details as follows:
From the east and north (A5, A494, A470/487 heading south, A4212 etc), head to Bala, travel through Bala High Street arrive at and queue at the road block near the Leisure Centre by 11:00am. Tell the stewards that you need to catch the train.
From the west (A470/487 heading north, A494) take the A494 east from Dolgellau, arrive at and queue at the road block at Rhyd y Main by 10:55am. Tell the stewards that you need to catch the train.
Unfortunately, if you arrive later than the prescribed time it will not be possible to allow your vehicle through. This is for the safety of the triathlon participants.
The A494 will be re-opened to Llanuwchllyn before our later train departures.
