Closure of A494 re Bala Triathlon - Sunday 6th September

Due to the Bala Triathlon we have been informed that the A494 will be closed between Bala Leisure Centre and Rhydymain on Sunday 6th September from 09:00 until 15:00.

This means that there will be no direct access to Llanuwchllyn station or the village from the West / Rhydymain direction, except as below, and the only access to Llanuwchllyn from Bala is via the narrow B4403 road on the south of the lake.

They have made provisions for one convoy of vehicles to traverse the A494 from the Leisure Centre at Bala to Llanuwchllyn at 11:10am in time for our 11:30 departure, and one convoy of vehicles to pass from Rhydymain to Llanuwchllyn at 1:00pm, in time for our 1:30pm departure.  Vehicles must be at the road closure point no later than these times.

The organisers have stated that they will attempt to lift the closure sooner than 15:00 if possible, so that access to Llanuwchllyn should be available along the A494 for our 3:15pm departure.

Please allow extra time if you intend to visit us on the 6th and we apologise for the inconvenience this road closure will cause which is beyond our control.
