Purchased in 2025 using funds provided by the Bala Lake Railway Society, the Clayton entered service in February 2026 as a works loco after a full refurbishment and re-gauge from 2' 6" to 2'.
Built in 1976 the Clayton spent it's working life in the service of the Ministry of Defence at Shoeburyness in Essex where it was known as "Terminator".
