Operating & Maintenance Assistant
With the increase in business and activity, and in preparation for the extension of the railway into Bala, this is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join us as a key member of our small team helping to run the Bala Lake Railway.
This is a full time (40 hours per week), permanent position.
The primary duties of the post will be to cover vacant guard’s duties during the operating season, along with day to day care and maintenance to present the railway at its best to our growing number of passengers. During the winter the focus will turn to maintenance of track, infrastructure and rolling stock. You will be expected to train to cover a variety of operating roles, and to assist with the many and varied tasks necessary to run a successful heritage railway.
Candidates should have an aptitude for mechanical tasks, and be equally at ease dealing with customers and volunteers.
The ability to communicate in Welsh, or a willingness to learn will be considered an advantage.
Salary circa £22,000 pa
