We are re-opening on Thursday 9th July

We are pleased to announce that we will be re-opening on Thursday 9th July.

We have made several modifications to the way we operate so that we can keep you, our staff, and volunteers safe.

These include provision for social distancing, hand sanitising and enhanced cleaning of our trains and other areas. We have also reduced the capacity on board our trains to provide a safe distance between groups and installed some dividing screens between compartments.

We have created this video containing a summary of these changes:

In order to manage the numbers of people on site, and to avoid disappointment, tickets must be pre-booked through our website at https://bala-lake-railway.co.uk/book/

Initially it will only be possible to start your journey at Llanuwchllyn, but we aim to add the option of starting at Bala as soon as we can. Tickets will only be released for sale a few days ahead at the moment.

We are operating revised timetables, not the ones in our published brochures, allowing more time between trains. Please note that we will not be operating every day at present.

Please check for up to date information on our website https://bala-lake-railway.co.uk/

After such a long wait we can finally look forward to welcoming you back to the Bala Lake Railway and once again to the sights and sounds of steam engines around Llyn Tegid.
